15" (38 cm.) Earthenware shoulder head with very rosy glazed complexion, depicting young boy with sculpted brown hair beneath a sculpted hat with red banding, blue feather, and lettered "Liberty" on the brim, painted blue collar with stars decoration, painted blue eyes, painted lower lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, muslin body, earthenware hands, wearing vintage Stars and Stripes costume that is likely original. Condition: excellent except small one-piece reglue at bottom of back shoulder plate. Marks: Made USA. Comments: American, maker unknown, early 20th century. Value Points: very rare Liberty Boy; the doll has a blue ribbon award from 1973 UFDC convention.
