Description
10" (25 cm.) Seated upon an old-fashioned large wheel tricycle with metal wheel spokes and rubber outer tire is a bisque head boy with cobalt blue glass eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig, wooden block torso, padded wire arms and legs, metal feet and hands. He is clasping the steering wheel which guides the tricycle when it is wound, and there is a chrome headlight at the front which can be turned side-to-side. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Comments: French, circa 1875. Value Points: wonderful mechanical toy, which glides and revolves when wound, the boy wearing his original silk costume and cap.
