19" (48 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with formed bosom and elaborately sculpted hair having voluptuous arranged curls at each side of face centering an extended crown of hair, heart-shaped face with elongated strong throat, defined eye sockets, thin eyeliner encircling painted large blue eyes, arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, slender kid body with wooden lower arms and legs, painted red shoes, silk gown. Condition: very good, original finish with some craquelure on lower shoulder plate. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: superb coiffure is enhanced by original tulle and ribboned ornamentation on the large so-called "milliner's model".
