14" (36 cm.) h. 12". Seated upon a flannel-covered paper mache horse with painted spots, amber glass eyes and flannel saddle blanket is a bisque-head doll depicting George Washington, having painted facial features, deep blue eyes, closed mouth, white mohair wig, wooden block torso, hands and black boots, and wearing original flannel costume with tricorn hat. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1890. Value Points: rare candy container made for the American market; the horse's head removes for access to the candy container interior.
