23" (58 cm.) overall length. 10"h. doll. A bisque-headed doll with blue glass eyes, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, blonde mohair wig, wooden hands and legs is seated upon a wooden two-wheeled dog cart with original red and gold painted finish. The cart is pulled by a paper mache dog with luxurious fleecy mohair "fur", amber glass eyes, and red saddle and collar, and the entire toy is arranged upon a wheeled wooden base; when the base is pulled along, the doll pulls the reins back and forth as though urging the dog along. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S&H 1010 (doll). Comments: for the French market, circa 1890. Value Points: a wonderful luxury toy in perfectly-preserved condition, the little girl wearing her original silk dress with matching bonnet.
