30" (76 cm.) All-cloth homespun doll with one-piece head and torso, flat-dimensional face and back of head with inset pie-shaped panels at each side giving shape to the head, oil-painted facial features and hair, painted brown side-parted hair with short curls in front of each well-defined outline of ears, painted brown eyes, defined upper eyeliner, brows, nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, stitch jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, mitten hands, antique black schoolboy costume, white shirt, socks, red leather shoes, antique badges. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: American, late 19th century, the doll depicts a nicely groomed gentleman schoolboy with fine detail of painting of hair and features.
