15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head with very delicate complexion, blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading in very wide eye socket cuts, dark eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes and brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth, pale accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, antique white pique dress with rose silk sash, fancy early bonnet, undergarments, leather shoes, rose knit socks. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1877, earliest period of bebe production by the firm. Value Points: very beautiful wide-eyed expression complemented by delicate complexion and blush, fine original body and body finish.
