The bisque-head Polichinelle has blue glass eyes, painted lashes and brows, open mouth, shaded lips, four teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, bisque hands, wooden lower legs and feet with distinctive curved shoes, excelsior-filled body, and is wearing sewn-on elaborate silk costume of burgundy and ivory silk satin with metallic and lace trim, silk ribbons, brass bells, and well-formed signature Polichinelle humps at front and back torso. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Mon Tresor 27. Comments: French, circa 1895. Value Points: wonderful grand size of the popular 19th century theatre figure accentuated by superbly detailed original costume, shoes, and hat, rare bisque hands.
