22" (56 cm.) h. 20"l. The paper mache goat is lavishly covered with white curly mohair "fur", and has a textured-shaved face and legs, with large inset blue glass eyes, carved definition of nose and mouth, wooden feet with tiny hidden wheels for pull-along play, leather ears, blue and ivory silk ribbon trim with tiny brass bells, and an extravagant pair of carved wooden horns. Excellent condition. French, circa 1875, a luxury presentation including rare carved horns of the popular animal toy in wonderfully-preserved condition.
