26" (66 cm.) All-cloth doll with unusual heart-shaped face formed by the six-seamed head, and separately stitched face, painted short brown curly hair, painted facial features, painted brown outlined eyes, outlined nose and mouth, oil-painted hands with stitched unseparated fingers. Condition: fair/good, original finish, albeit very faded. Comments: American, late 1800s. Value Points: the appealing folk doll has most unusual construction, antique costume including embroidered velvet slippers, and with attached paper label "Lillian M. (Wild) Thistle, 92" which may indicate original owner.
