Description
14" (36 cm.) All-cloth doll with early three-seam head, firmly-stuffed and oil-painted head, painted brown hair with forelock curls, painted brown eyes with shaded detail, black and brown upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth with downcast lips, stitch-jointed shoulders, disc-jointed legs with wide hips, separately-stitched thumbs, sweet antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Kathe Kruse 2198 (partially illegible). Comments: Kathe Kruse, the Type VII model known as "Kleines du Mein", the petite doll was made from 1927-1930 as a smaller version of the earlier 17" Type I model. Value Points: beautiful face and painting on the wistful-faced rare character.
