17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with firmly-pressed and oil-painted head, three seams at back of head, brown painted hair with wind-blown curls onto the forehead, brown down-glancing eyes with thick black and brown upper eyeliner, white eye dots, well-shaped blushed ears, closed mouth with pouting expression, stitch-jointed arms with separately-sewn thumbs, disc-jointed legs, original costume comprising green woolen button-fly pants, green knit sweater, cap, mittens and leggings, brown felt shoes, brown knit scarf with green tassels. Condition: excellent. Marks: Kathe Kruse 1276 (left foot). Comments: Kathe Kruse, Type I doll, the model was created 1913-1926 in her studios. Value Points: outstanding original state of preservation with wonderfully rendered artistry.
