Description
13" (33 cm.) A box-shaped base displays a propped up wrist watch whose crystal is being held open by a diligent worker while another watch maker winds the knob back and forth. Three other watch makers perform various moving tasks including one that peeks in and out from the second-hand hole in which he is hiding. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Baranger Studios, the California firm created a series of amusing animated window displays with mechanical works as generic advertising pieces from about 1924 until 1950s, and rented them to jewelers. It is believed that no more than 30 of any model were made. Value Points: the rarity of the mechanical display is enhanced by its wonderful state of preservation, and delightful antics
