15" (38 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flat-cut neck socket that pivots on neck dowel of original porcelain shoulderplate, sculpted light brown hair with curly details, sculpted ears, painted facial features, blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, short stroke brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, muslin midriff with bellows crier, porcelain hips and lower limbs with painted black shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1860, the doll combines rare glazed bisque head with porcelain shoulder plate and limbs that are original. Value Points: very rare taufling baby with superb sculpting detail, wearing original pique baby dress with soutache embroidery, undergarments, bonnet.
