Description
20" (51 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead, oval face with full lower chin and strong throat, black sculpted hair in center part, looped around the sides of face and over the modeled ears to form into a tightly-braided chignon at the back of head, black enamel eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, firmly stuffed kid body, with hand-stitched fingers. Condition: very good, split at back upper shoulderplate, some patches on kid body. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: beautiful presence of the early doll, rare coiffure, original body, original costume.
