German Bisque Child Known as "Kestner Bru" with Rare Body

19" (48 cm.) Pale bisque socket head with very plump cheeks and throat, blue glass eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes, brush-stroked brows with feathered details, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, painted row of teeth, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden early fully jointed body including jointed ankles, straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, body repainted. Marks: 13. Comments: Kestner, circa 1884, the model closely resembles the "circle/dot" model of Leon Casimir Bru, hence is often referred to "Kestner Bru". Value Points: rare model with beautiful pale bisque, wearing pretty rose silk faille dress, undergarments, leather shoes resembling Bru shoes.
