20" (51 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult lady with elongated throat having well-defined throat hollow, black sculpted hair with widow's peak, hair drawn in thick brushstrokes at the sides and forming into a long ringlet curl at each side of throat, and the hair at the back of head captured in a well-defined sculpted snood with sculpted tassels at each side and a bow at the crown, painted blue downcast eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, delicate brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth, muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms, antique costume and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent, some body wear. Comments: Germany, circa 1860. Value points: exceptional quality of sculpting enhances the very rare coiffure which is enhanced by fine feathering around the face.
