23" (58 cm.) Bisque socket head with slender facial shape, blue glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, slightly parted outlined lips, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, French composition adult lady body with very exaggerated shapely torso designed to accommodate the 1905 era costumes, fully jointed shapely limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S&H dep 1159 11 Germany (head) E D B Paris La Patricienne Depose (body stamp). Comments: Edmund Daspres, successor to the Jules Steiner firm at the turn of the century, introduced his "modern" fashionable lady in 1905. Value Points: rare model with very distinctive body, all-original model with exquisite ivory satin and lace gown, undergarments, cream kidskin shoes, silk parasol with dog's head handle, and superb bonnet with original milliner's label from Madame Eugene Besnier.
