20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes with darker outer iris rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, brunette human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, original body finish albeit very rubbed and worn, few flakes hidden low on neck socket. Marks: 8/EJ. Comments: Emile Jumeau, the premiere edition of the signature EJ model, circa 1882. Value Points: lovely original aqua silk and lace dress, undergarments, matching fancy bonnet, aqua silk parasol, ivory kidskin boots impressed with figure of doll by Alart.
