18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-lined bisque shoulder plate with especially full throat and cheeks, blue glass inset eyes with very thick dark eyeliner, painted dark curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with impressed laughter lines at lip corners, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French wooden fully articulated poupee body with dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, swivel waist, antique velvet costume and woven bonnet, leather boots. Condition: generally excellent, body is appropriately sized and of the era, albeit not the deposed Bru model. Marks: G. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1870. Value Points: outstanding beauty of the smiling poupee with distinctive expression achieved by very full cheeks and chin, fully articulated wooden body.
