15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head, very plump face, blue glass almond-shaped eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented outlined lips, pierced ears, dimpled chin and philtrum, blonde fleeced lambswool wig over original Schmitt pate, composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists and flat-cut derriere. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bte SGDG 1 (head) 1 (pate) Sch (stamp on derriere). Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880. Value Points: most endearing early model bebe with original signed body and pate, original body finish, wonderful antique costume comprising silk dress, berry-trimmed woven bonnet, wooden-handled silk parasol, leather shoes.
