8" (20 cm.) All-wooden lion with ball-jointed neck beneath the furry cloth mane, carved open mouth with ferocious painted teeth, painted white freckled muzzle, glass eyes, leather ears, rope tail. Excellent condition. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1905, the earliest version of their carved wooden lion, is impeccably preserved in this rare example.
