24" (61 cm.) A bisque baby with brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, dark eyeliner, brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, two porcelain teeth, shaded lips, brunette wig, and composition baby body is resting in a wicker baby basket whose lavish blankets disguise a mechanical device that is attached under the doll. When activated, the doll turns its head from side to side and wave its arms, Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Q made in Germany 20 Germany JDK 1914./ c. Hilda Ges Gesch N 1070 Comments: Kestner,circa 1920, the life-size rare baby was incorporated into a store display, likely in a luxury baby boutique considering the deluxe nature of the doll model, and the lavish antique costume being worn. Value Points: very rare mechanical presentation of the beloved model, likely one of a kind.
