18" (46 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted hair and face, distinctively-shaped socket head having pronounced crown, narrow face, brown painted hair swirling onto forehead, painted brown eyes, black and brown upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, stitch-jointing at shoulders, disc-jointed legs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 268x? (right foot) 1196? (left foot). Comments: Kathe Kruse, type VIII, circa 1940, the model is known as "Eierkopf" in relation to its egg-shaped head. Value Points: unusual narrow shaped head, beautifully-painted features, near mint body.
