Description
9 1/2" (24 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass spiral-threaded paperweight eyes, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, closed mouth, shaded lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden body. Condition: generally excellent, body is not original but is appropriate in size and style, and of the same era. Marks: Paris 3 J.D. (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Henri Delcroix, circa 1888. Value Points: rare bebe, especially in this petite size, wearing superb ivory and aqua silk costume with embroidery (likely from the atelier of Ernestine Jumeau and original to this body), along with antique woven bonnet and leather shoes.
