Description
24" (61 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head of elderly man with balding pate, sculpted brown hair at back of crown onto the sides, very lush curly sculpted beard, enamel eyes, brown brows, closed mouth with downcast lips, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, bare feet, original (frail) silk costume. Very good, finish on hands and feet is flaking. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, especially fine sculpting of facial features.
