17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, incised eyeliner, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, open mouth with outlined lips, two porcelain upper teeth, tongue, blonde mohair bobbed wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing, wearing boy's antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J made in Germany 13 237 JDK 1914 c. Hilda Ges Gesch N 1070. Comments: Kestner, their trade-named doll Hilda, circa 1915. Value Points: especially fine quality of bisque and sculpting on the gentle-faced child, original wig, and carrying vintage mohair toy bulldog.
