Description
20" (51 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted facial features and brown baby hair with soft curls framing the forehead, modeled ears, blue eyes with shaded centers, black pupils and white eye dots, black upper eyeliner, ochre all-around eye shadow, rosebud-shaped lips of closed mouth, muslin body with stitch-jointing at shoulders, bellows-jointing of hips, separate thumb, flat sole feet. Condition: generally excellent, original finish with few very light age lines. Marks: Kathe Kruse (very faint signature on foot). 29 (small ink script on foot). Comments: Kathe Kruse, the play doll version of their "Du Mein" character, 1935. Value Points: especially pleasing all-original painting of facial features and soft curls on the rare model, wearing original underslips, cotton button-closure panties, knit slippers, baby gown, and heavy knit sleeves.
