Description
9 1/2" (24 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass inset eyes, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig in elaborately-arranged upswept curls with rhinestone coronet, composition body jointed at shoulders and hips, painted flat black shoes. Condition: near mint. Marks: 221 3/0 (head). Comments: French, SFBJ, mid-1900s, from a series of historical portraits of 19th century ladies and royalty. Value Points: very fine original condition, wearing ivory brocade gown with metallic trim, rhinestone necklace, with original Jumeau wrist tag with ink script "Marie-Louise 2 Femme de Napoleon I, Epoque 1810", with original stand, and in original box with FAO Schwarz store label.
