Description
11" (28 cm.) Solid domed bisque flanged head, sculpted blonde hair in short boyish fashion, intaglio blue right-side-glancing eyes with white eyedots, black upper eyeliner, short stroke brows, rounded nose, closed mouth with drilled "O" hole, original muslin body with bellows in torso, composition lower arms and legs, striped romper suit. Condition: generally excellent, whistling bellows not working. Marks: 8774 Heubach (in square) Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1912, the doll was marketed in America as "Whistling Jim". Value Points: charming fellow whose side-glancing eyes and puckered mouth wonderfully depict the whistling expression.
