13" (33 cm.) Sculpted terra cotta shoulder head of lady with turned head, sculpted brown hair with detailed curls around her face and sculpted chignon at the back of head, painted facial features, enamel brown eyes, mouth modeled closed but appearing as though slightly-parted lips with a row of teeth, hemp-wrapped body, terra cotta hands and lower legs, very expressive fingers, painted blue stockings and black shoes with red bows. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Neapolitan, early 1800s. Value Points: very fine original painting and costume with embroidered details and rare velvet sleeves indicating her higher social status in the village.
