5" (13 cm.) Painting on bone depicts an 18th century lady with low cut gown overlaid with lace and accented with jewelry, matching very elaborate lace coiffure with tumbling ringlet curls at each side of her face, in original wooden ebony frame. There are two old separation lines in bone upon close inspection, but not detracting from her portraiture. Late 1700s.
