Bisque socket head, blue glass inset eyes, closed mouth, white mohair wig with unique coronet of curls decorated with flowers, composition body jointed at shoulders and hips, painted flat black shoes. Condition: near mint. Marks: 221 3/0 (head). Comments: French, SFBJ, mid-1900s, from a series of historical portraits of 19th century ladies and royalty. Value Points: beautiful portrait of Madame de Pompadour wearing gold taffeta gown with interwoven pink accents, pink bows, with original gilt Jumeau wrist label with ink script "Marquise de Pompadour Favorite de Louis XV, Epoque 1750", original stand, in original box with FAO Schwarz store label.
