Very Rare French Porcelain Lady with Unusual Hinged Skirt Bustle by Samson of Paris

8" (20 cm.) Porcelain lady standing in sideways pose on self-base, her right leg on a foot stool as she lifts her skirt to reveal her shapely leg, and her torso bent forward to reveal her ample bosom, with very elaborately sculpted and painted costume of the late 18th century including three-feathered bonnet. And with unusual hinge at the bustle which when lifted reveals her bare derriere. Marks: (blue intertwined letters L enclosing small letter S stamp). Excellent condition. French, Samson of Paris, circa 1900, the firm was noted for re-creating works of earlier famed French porcelain firms, this example their version of a notable Sevres work.
