The market scene encompasses two sets of 13" wooden shelves which are filled with more than 35 earthenware pots, 11 wooden crates with fruits, 8 baskets with flowers, tin cart with spoked wheels, wooden court with tin scales and accessories. Tending the scene is a 9" bisque head doll with black glass eyes, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, brunette mohair wig, French paper mache body, and wearing an elaborate folklore costume of the Alsace-Lorraine region by SFBJ. Excellent condition. French, circa 1915.
