Description
4" (10 cm.) x 3" box. 4" paper doll. The double-sided paper doll depicts a young woman with folded arms at her bodice, and includes 12 double-sided costumes and four separate double-sided bonnets. The doll and costumes are preserved in their original box with engraving on the lid depicting a dressing table laden with accessories, with a mirror on the inside lid framed by elaborate pressed gilt papers, and with the original store label on the underside "Tempier 27 Boulevard des Italiens". Doll and costumes are excellent, box has some wear at edges. Georges Francois Tempier owned the toy shop " A La Bonne Foi" from 1844 until 1855, specializing in luxury playthings for "well-off shoppers".
