Description
5" (13 cm.) x 4". An oval painting on bone depicts a gentle-featured woman with elaborately-arranged coiffure having four finger curls on each side of her face, centering a braided coronet trimmed with white pearls and a string of pearls across her forehead, with pearl drop earrings and wearing a draped purple bodice with lace edging. The painting is set in a brass frame with mahogany-wood surround. Early 1800s.
