23" (58 cm.) Bisque shoulder head depicting a plump-faced adult lady with elongated throat, full cheeks, blonde sculpted hair waved away from her face into formally arranged curls decorated by a black and gilt comb at her crown, fully sculpted pierced ears, shaded blue eyes in well-defined sockets, red and black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, rounded tip of elongated nose, closed mouth with outlined lips, sculpted bodice with blue and gilt-edged collar and with lavender bow having gilt edging and purple accents, old muslin stitch-jointed body, leather arms, sewn-on stockings, leather boots. Condition: professional restoration on sides of shoulder plate (does not affect collar and tie), right earlobe restored. Marks: 107-9. Comments: C.F. Kling, Germany, circa 1870, the same marked model but with glass eyes and variations of decoration was in the Spielzeugmuseum of Davos (#10 in their auction catalog). Value Points: rare model with unusual facial expression, fabulous deeply defined coiffure with comb, fancy bodice with unusual colors, and wearing a beautiful sateen print two-piece antique gown and undergarments.
