24" (61 cm.) Pink-tinted bisque shoulder head with very plump cheeks, sculpted hair with deeply defined forelock curl, topknot, and tousled overall curls, sharply side-glancing intaglio blue eyes with prominent black pupils, black upper lashes, white eye dots, sculpted brows with "worry" furrows, small rounded button nose, accented nostrils, closed mouth with downcast pouting lips, kid pin-jointed body, composition and wooden ball-jointed arms, wearing antique crimson wool knit Harvard letter sweater, linen pants, leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9 Heubach (in square) 8544 Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910. Value Points: outstanding sculpting on this rare and very expressive character, finest quality of bisque and painting, great costume.
