Description
28" (71 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted dark curly lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition fully-jointed body. Condition: head and body are age and size-appropriate but not original, two very faint old hairlines on forehead. Marks: Bru Jne 11 (back of head) SGDG (forehead rim). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1880. Value Points: the beautiful model has very fine modeling, complexion and painting especially around the eyes, superb waist-length antique mohair wig, and wearing very fine white pique dress with cutwork detail, undergarments, leather shoes, fingerless gloves, and ivory silk bonnet.
