Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of adult lady with elongated throat, light-brown sculpted hair with large braided coronet decorated by a black and gilt painted comb, painted bright blue eyes, black and red upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, fully sculpted pierced ears, very elaborate sculpted and painted bodice with rolled collar lined with bisque ruffles, additional pink bisque ruffles under the collar at the back, elaborately painted details of "embroidery" at the front and an attached bisque bow to match the comb, old muslin body with leather arms. Condition: restoration to the collar bow and some Dresden ruffles, body worn. Marks: 5 A 5. Comments: C.F. Kling, circa 1870, from an extremely rare series by that firm.
