Description
35" (89 cm.) seated. The paper mache harlequin is posed seated on a wooden slat-seated chair with metal frame, with very expressive smiling facial features enhanced by painted decorations, sculpted hair with high pointed topknot curl, painted costume decorated with applied sequins and "jewels", painted silver leggings and orange slippers, applied velvet shorts. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, mid-1800s. Value Points: very rare harlequin figure with wonderful expression and pose, and having extravagantly decorated original costume.
