Description
36" (91 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial features, pressed and painted facial features, blue side-glancing outlined eyes, painted lashes and brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, brunette mohair wig, elongated slender body, stitch-jointing at shoulders, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, one small tear in gown at back. Comments: Lenci, from series 700, introduced in 1927. Value Points: very rare grand size salon doll is wonderfully preserved, wearing original vibrant organdy gown with tiered ruffles that have double rows of felt scallops at the edges, two matching petticoats (one with built-in hoop), pantalets, rose garters, stockings, rose felt shoes, and elaborate bonnet garnished with multi-colored flowers, and with matching bouquet in her right hand.
