Description
17" (43 cm.) All-carved wood with oval head and elongated throat, carved definition of ears, painted complexion with enamel upper-glancing eyes, outlined eye sockets with painted upper lashes, brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, wig, shapely torso, dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: good, original finish albeit rubbed and faded. Comments: late 1700s, Southern Germany or Italian. Value Points: the fully articulated doll wears fine early costume with gilt gadroon trim.
