17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with blonde sculpted hair arranged in unusual curls with braid at the crown that is decorated by a Dresden flower and leaves, painted blue eyes with red and black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, sculpted fancy bodice with ruffled blue and white collar with blue polka dot accents, white beaded edging, and magenta painted decorations, newer muslin stitch-jointed body with bisque lower arms and legs, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, few typical flakes on Dresden leaves in hair. Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: rarity factors include unusual coiffure and very fancy Dresden collar and hair ornaments. Ex-collection Lynda Christian.
