28" (71 cm.) Chubby felt doll with composition mask face, movable disc googly eyes, sun-ray painted lashes, tiny closed mouth, glued-on felt hair with stitched brush-mark details, felt hands and shoes, wearing stitched-on bright green felt bellhop costume with gilt buttons and matching cap, carrying a posy of felt flowers and a felt folded "message". Condition: generally excellent, light surface craquelure around the nose and mouth, brilliant vivid colors of costume. Comments: Lenci, mid-1930s, the doll was presented to young child star, Shirley Temple by Harry Revel, the British composer who wrote the scores for her films "Stowaway" and "Poor Little Rich Girl". Value Points: rare and well-preserved doll, included is a vintage photograph of Shirley wearing a costume from "Stowaway" (1936) and Harry Revel who is presenting the doll to her.
