17" (43 cm.) All-wooden doll with socket head, carved detail of short curly hair in the man's style of 1850s, carved facial features with tinted detail of eyes and mouth, dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips knees and ankles, ball-swivel waist. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: mid-19th century, the classic mannequin figure was adapted to depict an actual person of the romantic era. Value Points: rare to find doll in well-preserved condition.
