16" (41 cm.) Pink-tinted porcelain swivel head attached to original shoulder plate in so-called "cup and saucer" fashion, painted blue downcast eyes with darker blue outer irises, black upper eyeliner, painted all-around lashes, fringed brows, accent dots at nostrils, closed mouth with shyly smiling expression, unpierced ears, horsehair-stuffed kid body and torso pull-strings for Rohmer deposed sitting system, kid-over-wooden upper arms, porcelain arms to above the elbows with curled fingers, kid-over-wooden ball-jointed knees, porcelain lower legs with bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Rohmer green stamp on torso). Comments: Leontine Rohmer, circa 1860, the doll has Rohmer deposed seating system and unique head attachment. Value Points: especially beautiful doll with fine realistic complexion tones, wonderful expression on the plumply-modeled face, swivel head, original signed body, original porcelain limbs with fine detail of sculpting, and beautiful antique linen costume with red soutache trim; included is (worn) antique wooden chair.
