15" (38 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with very full and elongated cheeks, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, thick dark eyeliner, delicately painted curly lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with heart-shaped upper lip, shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French all-wooden fully articulated body with dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 5 T (head) N1C28 (incised upper back torso). Comments: Andre Thuillier, circa 1882, with rare original deposed articulated bebe body. Value Points: classic and desirable facial model by Thuillier is perfectly achieved in this example, with superior quality of painting especially around the eyes and mouth, original rare body, beautiful aqua silk costume, bonnet, French leather shoes by Alart (an additional early frail silk dress is also included).
