Description
16" (41 cm.) heads. Each is of carton, the full body poupard with painted black hair scalloped-edge pate, painted blue eyes with black upper eyeliner, thick stroke brows, closed mouth, attached kid arms, and with original label "Depose Danjard Bte en 1860; excellent condition. Along with two modiste heads with solid dome, designed for display of bonnets, each with painted features, one with painted hair and floral stencil design at bodice (scuffed finish that is original but for touchup on left cheek); and the other with bald pate, paper lace bodice and wearing antique woven "a deux bonjours" bonnets (very good original finish). French, mid-1800s.
